Cumberland River Compact Teachers Retreat paddle to Burgess Falls
We’re excited to host the Cumberland River Compact Teachers Retreat paddle to Burgess Falls on Sunday, September 13, 2026!
Join us for a guided paddle to one of Tennessee’s most scenic waterfalls as part of this special retreat experience. We’ll launch together at 2:30 PM for an unforgettable trip to Burgess Falls.
Event Details:
Discounted kayak rentals: $65/person
Includes kayak, paddle, life jacket, and short shuttle ride to the put-in
Single and tandem kayaks available
Important Note:
Due to lower-than-normal water levels caused by current drought conditions and just the time of year this paddle takes place, we’ll most likely need to beach our kayaks slightly earlier than usual and complete a short hike to reach the base of Burgess Falls. To allow plenty of time, we’ve extended the trip duration by approximately one hour. Please wear footwear with good traction that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy.
If you have any questions, please contact us at booking@cumberlandkayakadventure.com or call 615-800-7372.
Tennessee Returned Peace Corps Volunteers Burgess Falls Paddle
We’re excited to co-host this year’s Burgess Falls paddle for Tennessee Returned Peace Corps Volunteers! We’ll be paddling to the falls together at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
If you need to rent a kayak for the event, we’re offering discounted rentals at just $49/person! This includes kayak, life jacket, paddle and short shuttle ride down to the put in. You can choose between single kayaks or double kayaks. If you book a kayak from Cumberland Kayak please meet at our property just above the recreation area located at 387 Cane Hollow Rd. Sparta, TN 38583. You’ll get checked-in by our staff and then shuttled down to the put in.
If you have your own kayak or paddleboard, you can park and meet us at Cane Hollow Recreation Area at 10:00 AM. This is where we put the kayaks in at. The route to Burgess Falls is a little over 2 miles one-way. Due to lower than normal water levels from the current drought TN is in we do have to beach our kayaks a little earlier than normal and do a short hike to the base of the falls. Because of this, we’ve extended our tour time an extra hour to accommodate. Please bring solid footing you don’t mind getting wet or a little muddy during the hiking portion.
Please reach out with any questions to booking@cumberlandkayakadventure.com or call 615-800-7372.
